  • I went to nix on a whim walking around. The menu (as another user commented) sounded great may I even say impressive and as my fiancĂ©e is vegetarian the option for veggie burgers was a major selling point. As our dinner progressed however, it went down hill fast. Now some thing go wrong because of bad staffing, those of which I will gladly list for you now; the food was made wrong (put chilli with meat on the veggie burger when asked not to) and we had to flag someone else down to change it, the waitress waited almost 20 minutes to come take our order, our drinks were empty about the whole time and she just wasn't very nice. The food on the other hand was the real issue. I got the French onion burger and I can only think that this was the chefs first time cooking meat. There was no seasoning on it, it was dry as hell and the the onions weren't fully cooked. The veggie burger (once remade) was altogether bad and you could tell that the cooks assumed veggie burgers had some magical spices of their own that match whatever it's paired with. This is the problem with Charlottes restaurant scene; focus on the idea of the restaurant and the overall look bit forget how the food tastes. Thanks for this one but no thanks. Go to the penguin or big daddies, they're packed for a reason.
