  • We went in to make our first reservation for day care when my husband walked over to the window where small dogs were playing. He asked why the big dog (doberman) was in with all the little dogs. We were told that dog didn't get along with other big dogs. While we watched, the doberman continually terrorized several of the little dogs - barking and snarling at them with teeth bared. The little dogs kept trying to get away, but the doberman kept going after them. Finally, the girl inside with the dogs radioed for help, but it was at least 10 minutes before another girl came and took the doberman away. This behavior of the doberman continued nonstop the whole time! One dog was a little pomeranian mix (maybe papillon) and was terrified. Once the big dog left, it's tail went up and the whole vib in the "play" area changed. Even though the doberman didn't bite anyone, it definitely wasn't fun for the little dogs. When we went back the next day to cancel our reservation and explained why, the guy at the desk just made excuses for the doberman. Such as: (1) dog reacts to people/dogs at the window (the dog wasn't even looking up at the window, but was fixated on going after the small dogs and we didn't even have our dog with us) and (2) dogs are like people and can have an off day (fine, but they should have jumped on fixing the problem a lot sooner). There was another larger dog in the play area who has separation anxiety if parted from a small white dog. That dog just hung out laying down at the other end the whole time which was fine. After viewing this and getting the Petshotel response, there's no way we'd leave our medium sized dog there. We were told the doberman was boaring and had just entered the play area. I'd recommend visiting more than once (we were there around 2:30 pm on a weekday).
