  • It's probably been more than 20 years since I've stepped foot in the Monte Carlo. The outside still looks the same, but inside has changed a lot. The casino floor is now more open and not cluttered with slot machines like before. I love the check in process. They have mobile check in stations instead of walk up desks like most hotels. There is still a walk up counter to check in, but I like using the self check in process. It's very similar to how you would check in at the Airport. Pretty easy and fast. There are people there that can assist you if you have questions or are stuck. I don't agree with the $15 parking fee they charge you if you are a guest. This should be part of the $35 resort fee you are charged. I really don't understand what the resort fee is for anyways. My understanding is that it covers the WiFi, pool & gym. But, how can you justify charging $35 for the gym when probably 80% of the people there do not use it? Or for the pool that is closed? So that just leaves most guests being charged $35 for using their WiFi. That's ridiculous when most hotels charge $12-$15 per day. I wish all hotels get rid of these stupid resort fees and just charge per use instead. The rooms are nice and big, but I'm not a big fan of all the red in the bathroom. The shower head didn't have the kind of pressure I would have liked. Pretty weak. Also, I wish that they would have raised the soap holder higher so that it was so low where I would have to squat down to pick up anything. I like the couch that's in there and love that they did not put a TV stand that takes up half of the room. The TV sits on a stand that maybe protrudes from the wall 6 inches. There's an hdmi port, 2 power ports & usb ports. So it's convenient for you to plug stuff in. I was able to plug my laptop in the hdmi port and project movies I had on my laptop onto the TV. The WiFi was pretty good at 10mbps down & up. If you are a T-Mobile user, you will love this location even more. The data speed was very good and it better be because the T-Mobile arena was just next door. One thing that I did not like about this resort is the lack of restaurants or a food court. If you are hungry, there's no food court available. You would have to go outside where it could be raining, freezing or hot to get food. I hope that they change this soon.
