| - I'm happy to discover Magic Noodle exists. Moving to the area, I thought it might be difficult to find a Chinese place with decent noodle soups and homemade dumplings but I was wrong. Now China Magic Noodle isn't exactly the fanciest place, but I wouldn't expect it to be. I lend the five stars because the quality is great, and this cuisine with this level of quality is rare in these parts.
Obviously the most important part, the noodles, are homemade on the spot. There's a window into the kitchen where you can actually watch them roll and hand pull the noodles. Not only are they homemade but there are 5 different kinds depending on your preference for thickness and length. I had the beef noodle soup with shaved noodles and the broth was excellent, as were the homemade noodles. Truly well done.
We also ordered some dumplings which were also very good, but given the portion sizes there was no way we were finishing everything. The dumplings are huge! Great homemade wrappers and they come either steamed or fried. You could probably share an order of these and be satisfied without having to order anything else.
The menu items are all priced very fairly, especially given the massive portions they dish out. If you order like two entrees and an appetizer, be prepared to take a bunch home or feel really uncomfortable at the end of the night.
Overall, I'm a bit biased because Chinese noodle soup is one of my favorite foods, and also hard to find, but I think Magic Noodle deserves recognition for its great homemade noodles and dumplings. They also offer some more traditional fried rices and noodle stir fries which are every bit as good, but if you're in the market for a nice Chinese noodle soup, this is your place.
