This airport was a five that declined to two due to overcrowding, overuse and anachronistic facilities particularly lacking in access to plugs although with a strong array of eating options. A gigantic and transformative construction project is well underway. Already back at three stars, it seems inevitable that it will regain its five star rating when the reconstruction has concluded.
The particulars bringing the rating down include extremely crowded corridors, inadequate seating, only American Air clubs, and a lack of public electrical outlets; of course, adding to the confusion especially outside is the on going and constant construction.
The existing airport has a great atrium between the concourses with some high quality fast food options and some finer sit down table service options. It is a nice and open area with shopping kiosks and other stores adjacent to it. There are rockers and other sitting areas and unlike the rest of the airport is not experiencing construction. There are a variety of eating options in the concourses few of which are the typical fast food hamburger joints. My favorite is Bad Daddy's which features great burgers and fries or potato tots, both are good but I'd go with the tots. They are great. This place is also really good for breakfast as well and the Texas toast accompaniment is a favorite of mine.
They built a parking garage containing the rental car facilities right across the street from the lobby which is a great improvement over the former off site rental locations. But to cross that street is not so easy due to the confusion from the construction expanding the airport lobby outwards. So the many improvements are beginning to bear fruit, can't wait until the work is done.
