  • I can't imagine what a hassle it must have been in the days before this bridge was here, switchbacking your way down and across the narrow Hoover Dam to get from Arizona to Nevada. Now you blow on past at a stately 55 miles an hour and unless you notice the tourists on the pedestrian side of the barrier, you'd never know what you're missing. Easy and free access to the bridge with a parking lot (that gets quite full) and steps or a ramp up to the bridge itself. Completely accessible for those who are mobility challenged. The bridge itself is named for the one construction who died during construction and shares the name with Pat Tillman, the NFL player who was killed in combat. You'll get your fine pictures of the dam from here and a great "Welcome to Nevada" sign.
