| - We ordered the lasagna, chicken saltimbocca, and chocolate cannolis. The lasagna was good (but I have had better). The chicken saltimbocca was not very good. The chicken cutlets were very thin, and the chicken itself was not tender. They also skimped on the Prosciutto topping. The cannolis were ok, but taking into account that this resturuant is originally based in NYC (in which the NYC/NJ metro area has some of the best cannolis you will find anywhere in the world), Carmine's cannolis were disappointing. The service was slow, but we went on a Saturday night when the place was very busy, so I really can't fault them much for that. The decor is nice, but this is not the place to come if you want to have a nice quite dinner....the sound level of the crowd is very loud (more like being in a crowded bar, rather than a restaurant). Carmine's is very similar to Maggiano's, serving the large family style portions. I have not been to Maggiano's in several years, but what I do remember is that the food and atmosphere was far better than Carmine's. Overall, I think Carmine's is ok, and maybe if I ordered some other dishes, and it was a little less crowded/noisy, I would give it a higher rating. However, the best rating I can give it today is just 3 stars.
