| - This was the first time we used a pet boarding services. I heard of Harvey's Cat Hotel through a referral from a fellow Yelper Dixie Q. Though every visit was by appointment only, Cindy was extremely flexible with schedule. We dropped off our cat at 7:30pm on a Tuesday. We picked him up on July 1, Canada Day, at 1pm. I was in awe with how willing Cindy would stay late or return to office on a statuary holiday.
The kennel was generous in size, as it was as tall as an adult man in height. The kennel was clean when we dropped off the cat. Our cat had a whole kennel for himself, not being crammed with other cats. He was allowed some time out of the kennel everyday. This meant a lot to me, because we had to leave him there for a week. I didn't want him to be caged in and not allowed to move around for 7 days. We supplied the food. Someone gave him fresh water daily. I didn't ask how often the litter box was cleaned.
Cindy seemed very knowledgeable and experienced in handling cats. I texted her once during my vacation to ask for status update, and she replied text on the same day. I really appreciated her professionalism and consideration. I never met other people who worked at Harvey's, so I can't comment on them.
Our cat is a skittish cat. When we picked him up, he appeared frightened by being moved around again. He returned to his normal self 2 days after returning home. To me, this indicated that he was never ill treated at Harvey's.
Pricing is reasonable. Yet I wish we were told ahead that the rate is per day, not per night, so dropping off and picking up are counted as 2 different days. We erroneously assumed that the rate was per night just like Petsmart.
I don't have any issues using Harvey's services again.
