The Smoke Pit is kind of hard to find - mainly because it sits off the road & the parking lot is always full of cars! In fact, parking can be a problem depending on when you are there. Stood in line for about 15 minutes - and all parties must stand in line; no sending one to save a table & someone else places an order. That's fine; not a problem - but because seating is limited, they need to do something about the people who were finished with their meal & just sitting there talking; two businessmen, a table of old guys and a lady with a computer were the obvious offenders that day. They were there when we got there & they were still there when we left.
Anyway, as to the food. Ordered our standby pulled pork sandwich with one side; one okra and one fries. The sandwich was out of this world good, with a bunch of tender meat and a fresh bun! Unfortunately, the okra was on the almost burnt side and the fries were your standard frozen restaurant fries. If they spent a bit more attention to their sides, it would be a five star treat!
