Metro's stores are spiffy, clean and have some trendy food products, but I must say I really don't like this chain. I'd rather shop at Loblaws or its No Frills stores. Prices are generally very high here unless an item is on sale. They are mostly higher than regular Loblaws stores (it would not be fair to compare to No Frills). I think the difference is that Metro is open 24 hours and Loblaws is not, which I am sure adds considerably to their cost.
The other problems I have with Metro is that I don't care for their bakery section, produce is way, way to pricey, and while they have a lot of nice items, they were missing something fairly commonplace (not out of stock, but missing) when I was there last. I have also found the checkout at Metro to be somewhat inefficient.
