First, the name WISH is not on the door it was COPA...didn't know that was the spot. I was looking for WISH.
Then I walked in and was asked if I had a ticket? Where was I suppose to get a ticket from if there is no cover? One of the ladies let me in because I told her I had no idea what she was talking about and the website said nothing about a ticket being needed to get in. Thank you, you know who you are. Next time promoter...you need to be sure you post on your WEBSITE that you are hosting a "PAID" event at your venue.
Then the website said drinks were free for ladies between 10 and 1130pm nightly. I got there at 11pm and went straight to the bar. I was charged for both my drink and my date's drink. I figured it was because there was a "special event" going on. So I paid it.
The DJ was well, I don't know what to say about that. The music was old school, then it was techno/house. To me it was too loud for a lounge. I was practically sitting in my dates lap to talk to her. There was a band there last night 01/26/2013. They were pretty good. I would have loved to have heard a nicer mix of music though.
Finally, I loved the decor, there was ample room to move around and not crowded at all. I could actually count the number of people inside. I would have loved to have seen more people dancing...I'm not a dancer, I'm a lounger, so that is what I did.
But overall, Wish is a very nice place to go if you don't want to be hounded by the drunk guy in the MCM outfit from 1992. It's very laid back and I can see it going places down the line. Just need to update that website daily or weekly or monthly with the events that happen there, like the Wednesday 3AM brunch thing that is blasted on Facebook Weekly.
