BE WARY of getting your pet groomed here!! I was waiting for my fiancé to pay for our items and wandered over to the grooming window. Having been a former groomer, I was curious to see what they were doing in there. I was appalled by what I saw! This happened on Sunday January the 4th at about 4pm. The groomers don't wear name tags so I could not identify her by name (but I will be reporting her to corporate so they can figure it out by the staff schedule and description I give them). This particular groomer was grooming a medium sized dog using clippers in one hand and holding her cordless phone in the other and grooming with that one hand while talking. Then she put the phone down. After a few minutes I witnessed her checking her phone WHILE grooming the dog's leg. Meaning, she had the dog's leg up in the air, clippers were on and grooming while she looked away to see if someone was calling her phone. She was rough around tender parts of the leg, too. I was stunned. And she was NOT the receptionist. There was another person sitting at the desk in front of her. So whether this was a personal call or one for the business (which I highly doubt AND it wouldn't matter...she should not be looking away while grooming!!!), there was no need for her to divert her attention to her phone while she should be caring for this dog. If I was the owner, I would've been horrified at the lack of care! I thought of finding a manager but had no confidence in them as this was being done through glass for anyone to see. I'm sure this is standard behavior not yet corrected. The staff in there looked young and some looked like they were just goofing around, too. I've decided to take it up to a higher level with corporate. They are putting me a bit through the hoops to submit a formal complaint, but I am in the process of doing it because I think it's important. I would want someone to look out for my pets if roles were reversed. I will say that the staff in the store have been pretty helpful and we've gotten some good tips on our cat's healthcare. But this is not acceptable behavior for a grooming shop! Please be aware when you leave your pets at a groomer's!
