This is a great little place to take kids to at The District. I mean, free activities are always great. Bring a picnic blanket like the other families and spend a few hours having dinner while the kids play.
The carousel is well maintained and for the most part is uncrowded. There's no music that plays, which is what some mom was griping about when I was there today (8/15/11) with my three siblings. Frankly, that doesn't bother me.
Luckily, there's no line because I'm not sure a ton of people know about this place, and it says it costs $2 per ride, even though during the summer, it's free. One thing is, just know that sometimes they close 10 minutes early so... come at least a half hour before closing.
