I came in to this location to have my hand x-ray'd to see if I broke it while doing yard work. I brought my own cooling pad and had my hand wrapped in it when I arrived. The young girl working the front desk, I believe her name was Cristina, asked me if I would like an ice pack for my hand. Since mine was warming up I accepted and she brought me an ice pack about 5 minutes later while I was filling out my patient info. Not once did she say there would be a charge for the ice pack or that my insurance would not cover any cost associated. After I had my hand examened by the doctor I asked what I should do with the ice pack and she said she would take care of it. 3-4 weeks later I received a bill in the mail for my visit. To my shock, I was charged $30 for the ice pack and $10 for "application," neither of which is covered by my insurance! I am in disbelief that Urgent Care can justify charging this amount for an ice pack, that probably cost $1.50, and then have the nerve to charge an additional $10 for "application." What application?? This is sneaky and deceitful. If you are going to offer an ice pack you should be upfront about the cost. My wife and I are fortunate and can afford to pay this ridiculos charge because we don't want to ruin our credit by letting this bullshit charge go to collections since your billing department has refused to reverse the charge. I can only imagine how many poor families have been negatively impacted by these dishonest practices. I will NEVER return this location or any location associated with this company. I am currently posting my experience on Yelp and other review websites so other people/victims can be aware of this shady business.
