  • I was so disappointed today! I've come to expect a pretty good German meal when I head to Penn Brewery. Today, however, was not that good meal. The menu has become Americanized. Sauerbraten was described as pot roast and served with potatoes. There was no spatzel to be had. The braised red cabbage was missing something. I was so sad. The pretzels with beer cheese was great. My husband's jaggershinzel was good. But, if you really want good German fare- go to Max's up the road on the North Side. Penn Brewery has just gone down hill.
