  • Went to store Saturday to purchase a guitar. I asked for the full-size Stratocaster pack with the picks, bag, tuner, etc. Their website said it was in stock. Nick shows me the strat pack they have in stock and assures me it's the one I asked for. I buy it, take it home, turns out it's actually a short-scale hard tail and doesn't include everything the pack is supposed to per their website. Return the guitar Sunday. Nick says they have the correct one at another store. He loads the balance of my refund onto a gift card instead of crediting me the money back first and orders the guitar from their site, which says they have it in stock. I was there for an hour and a half. I get a call Monday from a very rude employee at the Summerlin store telling me the guitar is discontinued and I need to order another one, tells me how busy he is and can't help me and seemed very anxious to hang up on me. Then he says he'll call me back and never does. I call the first store back, ask for a manager and explain what the caller said and tell him I want a refund. Manager assures me they have the guitar at another location and I'll get it in a few business days. Come Friday I check my order and status is blank. I call customer support who tells me the order has been bouncing from store to store all over and nobody has this item in stock. I call multiple Guitar Center locations who all tell me they don't have this item. Saturday I return to the first store to get my money back. I'm there for 2 hours before I get my Visa credited. This was because Nick loaded my money onto a gift card to order the correct guitar, as well as flat-out incompetence at the other location who currently had my order and seemed incapable of processing a refund from their location without putting us on hold for extended periods of time. So all in all Guitar Center took my money, held it for a week promising I'd get what I paid for and I had to make several phone calls and 3 trips to this store until I could just get back to square 1 - empty handed. The value of the time I spent driving, calling and waiting was more than the cost of the guitar. The only saving grace here was the employee at this location, Nick, was at least courteous and he TRIED to get this resolved, though he should've actually refunded my initial purchase instead of taking liberties with my money and putting it on a gift card without my consent. This was not his fault so much as Guitar Center as a whole is just a flat-out turd. Site says items are in stock that none of their locations have, terrible communication between stores, keeping their own colleagues on hold for hours, etc. I will never give this company my business again. Ever. Neither should you. The amount of time I wasted on the phone, driving back and forth and standing around while these people jerk eachother off just to get my $300 back was worth enough to buy a Gibson. Edit: After this colossal waste of time I get an email from the Manager, Alon Bitton, with a half-assed apology and he had the audacity to try to get another sale out of me. I expressed my dissatisfaction with his store and requested he do something to make it right and I never hear back. Total slap in the face. These people are flat-out scumbags. Sam Ash is right down the street!
