BLUF: Don't waste your time here... go to the one that rhythms with "rational" and you'll be treated better in every way. Between the surly staff, inflexible rules and overall depressing atmosphere surrounding this place, I'd not recommend going here unless you truly had no other options.
I used Expedia to book a flight and rental car. I should have known better. The flight was fine but when we arrived at Dollar, I had to wait in line for about 30 minutes while the single person working at the counter helped 3 other customers. After waiting all of that time, I was told that if I wanted to proceed to rent the car using my debit card, I would have to submit to a credit check. This immediately set off alarm bells and I had my wife come over to just use her credit card. We were then informed that since I had initially payed through Expedia, it wouldn't be possible to change to her card; I literally would have no choice but to submit to a credit check if we wanted Dollar to honor the deal that I had made with Expedia. Needless to say, we walked away and ultimately ended up at a competitor (the one with the nice green logo) where we were treated incredibly well (polite staff, free upgrade, offer of water, etc...) We still had to end up using my wife's card to set up the rental but I can pay with whatever card upon dropping the vehicle off. I'll post a review of that company once my business with them is concluded but it is hard to imagine them getting less than 4 stars. Now I have to make sure that Expedia keeps up their end and actually refunds the money that I already paid for Dollar.
