  • I've checked into Comfort Inns in zero star cities which made me feel more welcome! I will never darken the door of this place ever again. When I got to this joint the hotel staff had this young man (name started with A) who had his hair gelled up like a cardinal's head crest, a little pointed at the top in a cocky way. He was not friendly at all and kind of peered imperiously at me like a teenage rooster eyeing an ant. What's more, he got the reservation wrong which led to a number of problems for me to say the least. (That is, problems entailing me calling the credit card company AND the hotel multiple times.) The room was small and the housekeeping really not careful at all. One time the staff came in while I was there and did the bare minimum (took the garbage, put in a new toilet paper roll, sloshed water around in the tub and sink, then left. When I asked her about something, she said "I don't speak English." Warning: You can put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door and they come in anyway! They turn on the TV for you in the turn-down service, which is freaky. I had put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door and came back in the evening to see the TV on. WTF! I thought there was a poltergeist the rest of the evening and stared into the darkness for a couple of hours expecting white threads to come through the windows or a hairy hand to tear me from the bed. The next evening, the turn-down service turned the TV on and also left bottles of water. What's next? Apparently, you have to CALL the front desk to turn down the turn-down service. It's meta all right! On the last day I was there, a hotel guy knocked at 9:00 on the Sunday morning. I groaned through the door, "Please come back later." He never did. Do Not Disturb must be an oxymoron at this hotel. On the first day I wanted directions to the Business Center and asked an employee, flashing my room key card and she told me to ask at the front desk. Seriously? When I got to the Center, I discovered a guy doing a yakking Skype call in a loud, entitled CEO type way. Also, you need to pay to play here; no computer access without putting in your card number first. I wanted to know the rates and the lady in the office next door (who was nice but had as many answers as a blank page) told me to go to the front desk and ask. When I went to the front desk to ask, the staff member said, "I don't know, it's a third party company." You want to run around for an answer like a head-cut chicken, come here. To the front desk.
