  • Thought I would try a new clinic for a chest xray, strictly for reasons of proximity. I love my usual clinic and will review them next. After a 15min shlep through slush I arrived at the front desk on the main floor of 150 York. Upon asking what floor this clinic was on I was told by the extremely surly security woman who barely looked at me, '9th floor'. What she didn't tell me was that the elevators were around the corner from her desk. Having never been in this building I then completely wasted my time going to the elevators in the other tower. Which of course took me to the wrong place. When I got back to her desk, I suggested to her that she could have directed me around the corner. To which I received a very snarky, disingenuous apology. Eventually I arrived at Med Can, a very fancy clinic with no less than three receptionists. The place was virtually empty but yet I was told I would have to wait an hour. Not something I needed to hear after waiting an hour to see a walk-in doc. And this while feeling like the dog's dinner. Here's the kicker. After learning of the wait I mentioned I'd use the wait time to charge my phone, using the outlet in the wall by the patient chairs. Whereupon I was told that isn't allowed. If it's because of possible interference with the xray machines inside - explain this to your clients. And get rid of your wall outlet in reception. Otherwise you look cheap and behind the times. Yeah, I get that wifi passwords aren't available everywhere but denying your patients the use of a wall outlet when you've got the gall to keep them waiting an hour is not cool. When I expressed my surprise to that receptionists she then told me none of the staff are allowed to use the power outlets to charge their phones either. Sure, I get that policy for staff, but for clients? Unless there's a good reason?
