I came here because Zebra wasn't open and it seems that I resort to better places when I have to "settle" for something else. I never thought of trying Korean food in Charlotte because I heard there are no decent korean restaurants there. Cho Won Garden was almost hidden because it was in a lower elevation. Good thing I gave it a try.
Bibimbop - It's the best I've ever had, it couldn't have been better. The stone pot is very hot so you really get the crispy rice effect. It's amazing how the rice doesn't stick to the pot here yet it's so crispy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
Kalbi Lunch Box - Not cheap on the short ribs. It comes with rice, vegetable tempura, sushi, and some salad. I could really taste the nice BBQ taste.
Seafood Tofu Soup - I've had tofu soup at too many places that all tastes the same, regardless of the meat. Here at Cho Won, the broth actually has the sweet taste of seafood. The actual seafood items were small and limited but the broth was very good.
Fresh Oyster Pancake (I think this is what it's called) - Kinda tasty but no oysters. I wouldn't suggest this.
Side Dishes - Had about eight but only three that I actually liked. These weren't that great.
I'm not sure if I'll try an appetizer again because the food is very filling. Next time I go, I'll have to order a drink because the water tastes really funny, and that's not a funny thing! The server we had wasn't that good. She didn't mess up but she wasn't careful or all that nice.
Over all, I'm very pleased with the food and I could probably ignore the service and other imperfections. Cho Won Garden is a lot better than certain places in Atlanta.
