| - I have gone on the High Roller twice now.. once during the day & the other at night.
The daytime visit: There is a locals deal $5 off per person & each adult admits a youth. Since my sister has 3 little ones, I got to tag along with her family. We printed our tickets at home & waited a short time in line (they chose the first ride time of the day). After that, you walk through.. they have a little bag check, then you head up & there's a bar, then before you get in line to board a pod, there's an option to take pictures in front of a green screen.
There were about 15 people on the pod & it was great.. not too crowded & everyone wandered to every corner to check out the views. There are screens at the top of the pod with a guy talking (didn't pay too much attention, obviously) & it displayed how many feet we were ascending periodically. When you are about to reach the top, they do a countdown which is pretty fun. The ride is approximately 30 minutes & it doesn't even feel like you're moving. Overall, daytime visit was not bad.. pictures came out decent & not too much reflection.
The night time visit: my relatives were visiting, so we decided to check out the High Roller at night because they (& I) wanted pictures of the Strip at night when it's all lit up. So, there was a total of 11 of us, which from my first visit, I assumed that they'd only fit a few more people onto the pod with us. Um, WRONG. There were about 25 of us.. give or take a person or two. So I understand that these pods can fit up to 40 people but you shouldn't do it. It totally took away from the experience. Also, people should be courteous to others.. don't stick to one part of this small space! I think the best part of the pod is the southwest corner which one couple hogged & would not move because they were in their own world taking selfies.
I'm excited that Las Vegas has the highest observation wheel at the moment. If you have 30 minutes to kill.. check it out!
