  • I have never written a review on Yelp before, but my experience at this place gave me the reason to start. I went in here looking for some new furniture for my apartment. I was greeted by the owner Sim, who right off the bat seemed overly excited and bit out there. I saw nothing I liked inside the store, but there was quite a few books to order from so I browsed through them. As I was looking at these catalogs he was talking my ear off about new items they just go it in, and offering me deals on all sorts of furniture. Even though I told him exactly what I needed. When I tried to talk to Sim and give my input he would suddenly switch the subject and say "dude what about this, that would look great dude". I honestly felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman who was trying to meet quota and the end of the month. Just pushing and pushing for sales. The prices on the furniture are marked up high so when he gives you a "DEAL" it makes you actually feel like you are getting a great price. So i pushed through the sales tactics and finally chose the items I wanted to order. After I was given the price of the order I told Sim that I needed to talk it over with my girlfriend. He did not want to let me leave without wrapping up a deal. Even though I insisted that I browsing around, and this was the first store I have visited because it was close to my house. After numerous financing offers and "no tax" deals he pleaded just give me 20 bucks and Ill save the order. I finally got through to him and said I would be back. That night I went home and looked at the website for the items that were going to be ordered, and actually chose a different set up. So the next day I visited another furniture store near my work place and priced out the furniture. After work I went back to my fit mattress and gave Sim the new list of furniture that I wanted. When he priced everything out, I let him know that I was able to get a much lower price for the same products and same distributor from another furniture store. He quickly questioned me, and I did not feel the need to tell him the stores name. He must have asked me six times and I could tell he was getting frustrated. After clicking away on his computer he came up with a price that was still 75 dollars more than the competitor. So I politely told him that it was alright, and I would just go with the other store. I stood up and leaned over the table to shake Sim's hand, he completely ignores me and keeps clicking away on the computer. After leaving my hand out for about five seconds I finally felt no need to waste anymore time. As i was walking out he says "Yea later dude" with an attitude. The sad part of this whole ordeal came about 10 minutes later when I got home. I received numerous text messages from Sim with deals on financing and a total price of 1 dollar cheaper than the competitor, he even states that we could do the transaction over the phone so I would not have to come back into the store. Sign of desperation in my opinion. Very poor customer service with very pushy sales tactics, and no communication what so ever. If you want the same exact selection of furniture with a no pressure environment and at a great price go to IDEAL Furniture. Speak with Jerry the owner. He is a great guy who knows his stuff.
