  • Unacceptable unprofessionalism. STAFF ARE NOT TRUE DRY CLEANERS WITH PROPER TRAINING! They ruined every one of my husband's black cotton dress shirts and one of his suite jackets! Some shirts were Calvin Klein at $65.00 a piece. They iron with too high of heat so that every black shirt came back shiny. Every shirt had a shiny collar with white crease marks. Also, my husband occasionally forgot the plastic tabs in of the collars and they ironed over the tabs!!! I addressed this with the owner and she stated that they DO NOT CHECK for plastic collar tabs, that it was the customer's responsibility to remove them and that her pressers WILL IRON OVER THEM. I couldn't believe this so I asked her if her staff should at least feel for these tabs and refuse to iron the shirt if it is a policy not to remove them to which she responded 'No' . So, this cleaner not only has people working for her who don't know that different heat settings should be used for different fabrics and fabric thickness but also staff that will damage your garments by ironing over plastic. Owner was stone face and completely unapologetic when I showed her every black garment that her store had ruined. Bottom line: Accidents are understandable, but no one should pay professional cleaners to purposefully ruin his or her clothes as a matter of routine practice. Now I interview cleaners about how they press black garments and I found a professional who will remove collar tabs and who uses differing approaches to pressing depending on fabric/color.
