| - This was the first, and last, visit I will make to this location. I previously went to the location at Higley & Baseline, but it is gone. That's a shame, as the staff was friendly, the wait times short and the visits less painful...
?Urgent Care facilities are, by design, meant to be used when an ER is more than you need but you can't get in to your regular doctor. So I understand that it's not going to be the same as going in for a regularly scheduled appointment.
That being said, I do expect any office that will charge me for services to be courteous and respectful of my time & money. I arrived Sunday at 12:45 with my 7 year old son, who had a fever and sore throat with white pus pockets visible. Slam dunk - strep throat. We need a throat swab and prescription, easy enough.
?After 45 minutes in an uncomfortably warm? waiting room, the girl comes out to turn the TV on to help entertain my son, which was appreciated. At the hour mark, still in the waiting room, I go up front to ask how much longer I should expect to wait? In this time, one person has been called into the back, and two have left. There is still one more person ahead of us waiting, and one more person has shown up and is waiting. I am told that "she is performing a procedure back there" and it may take another 30 - 60 minutes. Really?? Why am I just now finding this out?? For the next hour, anyone who comes in is given the potential wait time of an hour and a half to two hours - you're welcome to those given the option to make another choice... Why didn't we leave, you think? Because what if I get to another Center and have to start the same wait again??
At the 2 hour mark, we get called to a room. The technician is in no hurry. She weighs and gets my son's vitals, forgets something out in the other area, walks back and forth... Can I stress here - NOT IN ANY HURRY?? She swabs his throat, and leaves. THIRTY MINUTES goes by. Those swabs take 5 minutes or less. When the "doctor", actually an FNP, comes in and asks how we're doing - I honestly answer that I'm frustrated. (I have spent 2.5 hours here, and it should have been less than an hour, even with 2 people ahead of me!!) She had the nerve to get an attitude with me!! "Well I'm here NOW." She confirmed the strep, looked in his mouth, looked in his ears and left. And then I spent another 15 minutes waiting on a different technician to bring in the RX. The only reason there were 2 stars in this review is for the girl who did our intake was considerate of my son's boredom and because we eventually got the needed RX. If 1.5 stars were an option, I'd give that.
