I frequent the Second Cup here when I need a coffee while waiting to pick up my daughter near by from her babysitter and to get some work done. I thought that after the struggles of similar outdoor malls like Shops of Don Mills that corporations would have learned that outdoor walking malls in Canada are a hard sell.
You can basically visit this place (warmly) for only a few months a year but why would you come here in the dead of winter and brave the cold hopping store to store? I sure wouldn't - brrrrrrr!
BUT, there are a lot of big Anchor stores here that are a definite draw, as well as a surprising number of food options just off the round about. AND, a huge covered multi floor parking garage, soooo those are all positives.
But Stock Yards Village has been around for several years and still has A LOT of empty retail space, so maybe businesses and brands have the same concerns about outdoor malls in Canada as I do - brrrrrrr
Ah well, summertime is on so this is the time to visit.
Happy retail therapy y'all
