| - If you need a deep-tissue massage, X-fit, a boutique fitness operation surprisingly also offers some great massage and athletic therapy massage. I first came here a few years ago and was looked after by Derek, the owner, who arranged a massage with Eric, who was fantastic. If you want deep tissue, you'll get deep tissue, it might hurt like billy-oh while you're on the table while it feels like you're being kneeded like bread dough but I guarantee whatever knots you might have in your muscles will have melted away by the time you're done.
Yesterday, I returned and had an Ayurvedic massage with Melanie and it was just fantastic. She worked my back, neck, shoulders, legs and arms and I walked out without back pain for the first time in 2 months.
The massage room is not exactly posh or serene like one might find in a high-end spa but I've received better massages here than any of those other places.
They provide insurance receipts so if you're covered be sure to ask for one.
