  • We are locals and wanted a staycation. Booked one night at the Rio because the pools displayed on the website looked great. Stood in line about an hour to check in. You cannot check in until 4 pm unless you want to pay an additional $20. Went to room which is large but tired. Mattress cover on one bed was ripped. Door to shower area was splintered. Noticed there was no coffee pot. Changed and went to use pools. Sorry but only one pool open after 5 pm but was assured all four pools would be open next day from 9 am to 5 pm. Lie! Went down at 9 am. Crowd gathered before they opened doors at 9:15. One pool open. Asked again why and was told they don't open other pools until 11 and then only if there is a crowd. Checkout is 11 so we couldn't wait around. Also asked if there should be a coffee pot in our room. No they took them all out. But we could stand in line for 30 mins to get coffee at Starbucks. Also food on room service menu is high, which is expected. But an additional $8 fee? Will not stay here again. I know hotels have issues but I was lied to at least three times and I do not appreciate that.
