  • Lebowski's is definitely a neighborhood place to grab a bite to eat and wash it down with alcohol. Thankfully it's walking distance from the hospital so my brother and I made our way there several times, one for lunch and another for dinner. It's one of his favorite places in the area. Parking can be a challenge since the lot is small and parking hard to come by in the immediate vicinity on East Blvd. it also gets very crowded here. We opted to sit in the outdoor patio out front even when it was a little chilly since the inside is pretty cramped. Even though they have heat lamps outside we were told they can't use them since it's some sort of fire hazard. No biggie, I'm from Chicago so it didn't bother me. I preferred sitting outside since the inside smells a little like a wet damp cloth. Both the hostess and staff are so friendly. Our server was kind enough to card us, which happened to be a few days after my birthday, bless her soul. Obviously I had to have a White Russian from their drink menu dedicated just to The Dude's quintessential drink. Both The Stranger and The Lebowski Caucasian hit the spot. We tried the Trio Dip Platter which came with Spinach-Artichoke, Pimento Cheese, and Hummus, along with a good portion of pita points, crostini, and tortilla chips for dipping. It's a great way to start a meal and perfect for sharing since it can appeal to a variety of tastes. For entrees I had The Fredonia with the 'Weck (Kosher salt and caraway seeds) added to the grilled panini bread. It was so good. The roast beef and provolone with the accompany au ju was au so juicy. The 'Weck elevated it to the next level. Just the taste and crunch from the seeds added to the flavor land. texture profile. Also upped my side order to the garlic fries. They were good but not as crispy as I'd hoped. Brother had the Maude's Meatloaf which he's had before and said was great. We went back for wing night during the week. The Garlic-Parm wings were great. The garlic fries were better this time around. Looking forward to the next visit when I'm back in the neighborhood.
