As a former Vancouverite, I was expecting to hate Belfast Love (Donnelly bars don't have a great reputation in Van, mostly because they're taking over the city and are all very similar) - but Belfast Love was pretty good!
The food was good, much better than expected - I had the butternut squash sandwich which was very unique - grilled butternut squash with halloumi cheese, avocado, and cucumber on multigrain bread. There could have been more veggies on the sandwich but the flavours were very good. I also tired the fries which were very good.
I sat at the bar on the patio, which was nice - lots of plants and little lights and fairly spacious. (One thing to note is that the bar on the patio seems to have only 6 or 7 beers on tap, while the menu for the rest of the restaurant has quite a few more.) Unfortunately the service wasn't great, the bartenders and servers seemed more interested in talking to each other about their weekends than seeing how we were doing or getting our bill, but overall a good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back if I'm in the area.
