I remember these donuts being brought to work by a colleague. They were more expensive than Tim Hortons but definitely worth it because of their quality. Unlike a Tim's donut which is like biting into cotton candy, i.e., mostly air, the Trou de Beigne donuts are quite dense so that each bite is satisfying. I tried the maple bacon and continue to rave about that one to anyone who brings up the topic of donuts in Montreal.
@Aron G., I am not sure what to make of your Feb 12/16 review, If you can't understand the fuss about TdB's products, what are you comparing them to? Is there another business in Montreal that offers something better in your opinion? Also, as a self-described vegetarian, I wonder if TdB is even deserving of your review as there is an implied bias against their product. It would be like expecting you to write a fair review of Schwartz's smoked meat.
