  • Hidden in the mean streets of DT Las Vegas. You really have to be someone with the intent to come to Carson Kitchen. It's very low key, without any vibrant neon lights or flashy sign to attract you (if you were a tourist). So to me I think this place is the very essence of what you can call local. You won't know unless you've seriously heard it from a local person, and have done your research. Word of mouth? I think really does this place good. The great food and service really speaks for itself, and well everyone is talking about it too! *VEAL MEATBALLS: I'm not a big Veal person, but this is a choice you just have to make. If you're the carnivore type. I would go for it. It has that wonderful rich flavor, filling taste and texture. This can possibly fill you, but if you are just all about meats. Give it a go. *NY STRIP STEAK: Can't go wrong with steak right? Juicy tenderness (they know the difference between their medium rare and rare)! I ordered a medium rare. It had that nice well and flavorful outer layer, and that nice slightly but not too pink middle. Perfecto! RAINBOW CAULIFLOWER: You need your daily dose of veggies. If you're not a big veggie person, or a salad person! I would suggest trying this. The flavors are rich enough, and the veggie is so subtle in taste that you can barely tell they're vegetables. *BLACK RICE & OXTAIL RISOTTO: Forever and ever. I love this dish so much. It's very rich too and jam packed with cheese. You'll see what I mean. Every pull. Every scoop from a fork you'll see a nice lovely trail of melted cheese holding on to your fork, making it's way to your mouth. It's a party for your taste buds. WILD MUSHROOM FLATBREAD: AMAZING! I would like to thank the Carson Kitchen gods (well, more so the manager) for hooking us up with a complimentary flatbread. Flatbread is also great! Big portion (this will take a good portion of your appetite). So, if you have the intent of trying the heavier dishes, I'd just take a pass on this. Unless you're really craving a flatbread. BROCCOLI CRUNCH: Great salad. I'd vouch for it, it has a nice sweet taste to it, with a good crunch from the nuts. Although, amongst all the other plates, this may not have shined as much as the others. Service: In the humblest way, I love their gesture for not wasting food, and these small acts of services they provide to just give their customers an extra kick to their evening. We all know miss orders can happen, and well the manager was kind enough to first, kindly ask if we have food allergies (way to go!), and then, proceeded to offer a complimentary dish due to a mis-order. Way-to-go Carson Kitchen on being proactive. Waitress was super attentive with us, and very helpful as far as alternatives (chicken skins and bacon jams was sold out). She knows her dishes. She came by periodically and checked on us and of course. She too had a great sense of humor. Love this place!
