| - I just had my first appointment with Welch Dentistry, and they were the best.
Intake process is easy (on an iPad if you don't do it online before you come in), and the atmosphere is welcoming. It's clean but doesn't have that sterile feeling most medical places have (point of fact: it felt sterile as in germ free, but not sterile as in lacking in personality).
The dental assistant, Shamil, was very friendly (she is not familiar with the 80s music they were playing, but she's young, so we'll give her a pass) and explained everything with a smile.
The dental hygienist, Raina, is the best hygienist I've ever had. She was so friendly (but not insincere--or at least if she was she was really convincing) and knowledgeable and explained everything she was doing, what it meant, how it translated into adjustments to daily habits, and took her time doing the cleaning.
Less relevant to this review, but evidence of how personable she was, Raina is a UNLV basketball fan, has a left-handed son, is a foodie, tends toward small-town life, and is knowledgeable about the United States Tax Code.
Dr. Jon is also great. He has a laugh and twinkle in his eye that makes you feel comfortable, works efficiently to minimize oral discomfort, and his easy-going demeanor makes you want to invite him over to your house for a barbecue.
The office is decorated in a modern style with lots of cool high-tech stuff that impresses the technophile in me. They took a 3D scan of my skull and then analyzed it with me to show me that I'm healthy in ways that most dentists would never have realized (and I suspect did I have sinus or other issues, it would have revealed them).
If you're looking for a dentist you'll like, go to Welch Dentistry.
