| - So after my first haircut at the Parlour on Ossington, the stylist who cut my hair has opened up out in the Beach. Having started down the road of real haircuts, I was due for another one. I knew this to be the case when people at work were asking with no hidden concern if I was growing my hair again. Consider that I work at Home Depot, and you get a sense of how badly I needed to have my hair cut.
Off I went to see Cheryl.
The new space is great, open and bright. A worthy companion to the Parlour located on the west side. And the second haircut is actually better than the first, as I had some idea of what to ask for and what I liked (and didn't) from the first one. So I think this one is closer to what I wanted, especially considering I had little idea what I wanted the last time.
What was really nice about this visit was how friendly everyone who was working there was. It was really nice to walk in and have people greet us, even though they had never seen us before. When we left the goodbyes felt really sincere. And this, this is really important in a service industry (as I know well, working where I do). We walked out (both with new haircuts) and commented about how friendly the place was. Sure, you can say that this is what their job is, but so many places don't get this detail right. Parlour on Queen East does.
