| - What happened here feels almost criminal in my opinion.... they lied, they refused to let us talk to management, they were extremely rude, they charged us significantly more than quoted, they tried to charge us $2,300 for something they clearly knew didn't need to be fixed and was clearly working correctly after they removed a jammed toy. The story....
First, I didn't really intend on going here, it was an accident, a miscommunication between me and my wife, I meant for her to take the vehicle to Team Ford, who we have a great previous experiences with. I don't want to go to just any dealership, as we all know, they charge a premium for service. Team Ford was a little high in the past but fair. My wife thought these 2 places were related, and we recently moved across town.
They quoted her $520 just to look at the vehicle (if I knew, I would had instructed her to not leave it), we told them the back seat motor was not working to raise and lower the seats on the driver's side, there was a tapping in the dash related to the AC/heat, the motor to one of the steps was broken, and the tail lights weren't working on the trailer wiring. My wife also thought the $500 was high and asked why... I guess it is a flat $130 per item, when she questioned it, they said that money would go toward the repair price, so knowing she wanted a couple things done, she left the vehicle.
We didn't hear back from them, we called, I guess they needed an extra day or two to diagnose the problems, which made things tough around the house -missing the family vehicle. Finally they called... They wanted $5700!!! Whoa!!! No are are we paying that, I would sooner buy a new vehicle (maybe that is the goal).... However we didn't want to waste the $500 that goes towards the repairs, so we chose to repair the cheapest items, the hitch wiring -they said they would include and the dash tapping required a whole dash removal -they said they would do for $1100...
So, we called back to confirm the $500 goes towards the repair... She left us on hold and had to talk to other people a few times and generally seemed confused, finally she came back on and said our bill would be $1100 total. So we gave the go ahead for the $1100...
The next day they called and said it was finished and the bill was $1600ish... WTF... We questioned her, she denied ever saying $1100, she said they never told us the $500 goes towards the repairs, was very rude, called us a liar. They dropped a $100, for us arguing, so the bill was $1530ish.
When we asked for the manager we got hung up on. We called back and was promised to have a manager call back... didn't happen, we called back 30 min prior to closing, they left us on hold the whole 30 minutes, came back on 1 minute after they closed and said the manager just walked out, that we would hear from them on Monday (this was a Friday evening), I went to ask about getting the vehicle back before Monday and got hung up on again mid sentence... [2 weeks later, still no call. I emailed them, I filled out the survey. we had asked to speak to a manager no less than 5 or 6 times and we still haven't heard from anyone. ]
Either way, we needed our vehicle back, so I went and paid Saturday and picked it up... I looked in the back, there was a toy I haven't seen in a year on top of the seat and it was lifted up. The motor was now working? They tried to charge me $2300 to fix that motor, and all I can figure is, the toy was stuck under/in it jamming the motor.
They literally called and quoted me $2300 for something they knew didn't need to be fixed. If I got caught trying to steal $2300 from them, I would be sitting in jail. I feel these guys are criminal.
This is beyond unacceptable.
