  • Pickup: 12/28/16 Two gentlemen came to my apartment to pick up my items. They were unprofessional in appearance and in dialogue. In good faith I put looks aside to give them the benefit of the doubt. When it was time to sign my contract the foreman was rushing me because it was late. He pre-filled out the contract stating that the price is going to be different than was quoted but to sign and talk to my rep. She will adjust it as I only went over my storage limit by a few boxes. At a cost of $800. When I ask about insurance he said I was covered and I will be taken care of. I paid them $1,000. I left the building and I noticed that a few of my boxes were left in the hallway. When I brought this up to the movers they said they have everything then I pointed to items. That was my 2nd bad feeling. Towards the later part of January I spoke with several different people at West Coast Movers about the extra $800 charge that the pickup movers stated. They were unrelenting in adjusting the price. I understand paying a little extra but they had the upper hand by having all of my items. I was allotted 200 cubic square feet for $1000. I went over by a 30 cubic feet. They charged me an extra $800. Which I argued; how does going over not even 50 cubic feet equal a fee of $800. They simply wouldn't budge. I was then told they would deliver between 1/29/17 to 2/2/17. The Delivery: On 2/2/17 4:30pm I got a called from Cesar(Delivery Foreman)that they won't be able to deliver the items until 2/3/17 between 7am-10am to which I told him that I have a meeting during that time but I will cancel it in order to be cooperative. On 2/3/17 9:30am I called Cesar and he said he won't be there until 10am or 11am. I was upset and press him why? He replied, the move yesterday had to be finish in the following morning because the semi-truck he was order by his company to drive wouldn't fit. The client had to pay for an U-Haul which took two different loading and unloading trips. I then asked him if I was the first delivery scheduled for today (2/3/17)he said yes. I asked why wouldn't he call me the day before and let me know not be wait around knowing that they will be late. At 10:40am Cesar called me to let me know he had arrived. I directed him to the loading dock of my apartment complex. The truck would not be able to back up because it was 80 feet long. The apartment next to us had a drive way that he could use to maneuver but it was private and gated. I ran 3 city blocks in Downtown Dallas to ask the building to open the gate. I reached the office and got a call from Cesar saying he was able to make it fit. He then told me that I had to pay in order for them to unload. I called Erica to explain my experience with this company and why would I pay first when things could be missing or damage. In the middle of my sentence she transfer me to Kassie. Kassie stated she was the supervisor. She listened to my timeline but wouldn't budge so I decided to be done with it and pay. She then said do you have your money order or cashier's check available. I said I am paying with credit card. She replied Kayla(one of their employees)sent me an email yesterday sating the policy. I said, I didn't receive that information. She checked with Kayla and she confirmed she neglected to do her job. Kassie forced me to fill out a credit card form and text it to her. I did it knowing that it was a bad idea but wanted to be done with them. Once the delivery was completed. I was missing a glass table and a box. Not to mention my arm chair, mirror, picture frames and wooden chest were all severely damage. Not wanting to hold up Cesar's next delivery I signed his work order then called Erica and she told me that my issuance would only pay me 60 cents per pound. Yes, you heard correct. If my picture frame weighed a pound all I would get would be 60 cents for it. Erica then gave me to their 3rd party insurance company.
