  • I went to the zoo on 2/5/15 with my husband and 1 year old child. IIve been to this zoo before, but it was my daughter's first time as well as my husbands. The park on this day closed at 5pm, however the petting zoo closed at 4:45pm. We arrived at the petting zoo at 4:45pm on the nose and the woman in charge, said we could not come in. This was my first experience with my family and I wanted my daughter to see the animals and even though we told the lady we would be five minutes, she still declined us. She was not even remotely apologetic or sympathetic towards us. The zoo was not crowded because it was a weekday and there were still other people in the petting zoo. Sometimes lack of kindness, and customer service can make or break a potential purchase of a family membership. I was so disappointed and will never forget this lady and my experience on this day. I complained to the Phoenix Zoo and never heard back. Coming from the East Coast and having been to other zoo's around the country, this has to be one of the worst all around.
