  • On the fence: I was wanting to try a new place that better fits my budget and decided to go to Lux. I called around 3:20pm on a Sunday and asked for an appt for a mani/pedi. Spoke with Tom who said I could have an appt in 15 mins. Rushed over. Was mildly disappointed with the cleanliness and how they have a Saran Wrap type bag over the whirlpool tubs. I was worried for hygienic reasons but decided to stay anyway. (Never again.) The woman I had was okay preoccupied half the time, used her Bluetooth wireless headset to be on the phone and it listen to music. She wasn't very engaging - it was a hot day and I had to ask for my own water. Even though I just got the spa pedicure, she was very attentive to cuticles and applying the polish smoothly. I picked Orly's Oh Cabana Boy which is a holo blue based pink and she knew how thin it was applying and did 3 coats. Disappointed with her foot massage and application of lotion. The person who did the girl next to me also had a spa pedicure and her massage included oil which was a nice touch. At the end of my service Tom, the manager told me to sit tight and for me to put on my own t strap sandals. I've never been asked to do that because usually they want to make sure you don't mess up their work. It was close to 4:15pm and I sat by myself at the nail bar and Tom just sits down asking about the manicure. I wanted a coffin shape and one nail was damaged and he said for me not to do an acrylic so I do give him props. My service was subpar. He was preoccupied the whole time trying to manage the store, take phone calls and check people out. I had to lean super far like another reviewer had mentioned. His shaping of my nails was probably the best part of my service because they were a spot on squoval. Was disappointed with the application of polish, only 2 coats not 3 as my toes. Very seethru and not opaque like my toes. The polish slid and I had an accent nail and he couldn't find the gold chunky glitter and tried doing a micro glitter on my pinky and I told him it wasn't gonna work. He just polished over it and that was that. I had to fix my ring fingers because they had the accent nail and the polish was bad, even Tom agreed. Since I've arrived home I've had minor dents and air bubbles in a few nails. Also, Tom cut my cuticles 2x on my left had and wasn't going to apply the antiseptic and that was my last straw. I doubt I'll go back - it's a beautiful place but I was disappointed with subpar nails and rushed inattentive services. $40 for Regular Mani and "Spa" Pedicure.
