| - First we have a football player out of the closet and now I'm forced to listen to a gay comedian for his miserable 15 minute set? The only time people laughed was when I heckled the dude midway through. I mean, the guy had his little notes sitting on the chair next to him - that is not a professional, that is somebody who should be practicing in front of his mirror at home or working on his routine at amateur night. Besides him, they had a host who was funny, another warmup comic who was straight and told more gay jokes than the gay guy (not funny) and another guy from New York who was really good. Finally we had the headliner, who had just come from a big gig in Flagstaff the night before. Hey, once you play Flagstaff you have made it in the business right? Whatever, this dude was pretty comical at times and was worth the free tickets I had secured and to my joy he was ripping off some serious offensive gay jokes and even told some annoying loud women in the front to Shut the F$%ck up.
The room is tiny and the service can be slow, but comedy clubs are always good for date night., The two-drink minimum was waved for me when waitress dumped three full glasses of ice water in my vicinity, but it does normally apply. If you charge $15, then make it a one-drink minimum or just charge $10 with two drinks. Either way we did laugh alot, and the host said he was going to get better comedians in the future, but I'm not sure I believe him. Lots of competition in this area.
