| - We have to move every year out of state and are often forced to move site unseen. This place is by far the most misleading of all. The apartment we leased was a remodeled...or so it was supposed to be. The workmanship was horrible. We had to clean the whole place before we unpacked. I had to actually ask for paint, because the apartment looked so bad. Damaged doors that were never fixed, the appliances were not installed correctly and often did not work, the apartment smelled like smoke from the upstairs tenants, they tell you how low you can turn your ac even though you foot the bill. Basically, they don't want to replace the old units, so they hope by you keeping your apartment hotter they won't break. Every courtyard smells of urine. The rent is too high for what the place is. They claim it's safe, but it is a higher crime complex. We seen the police marching through at least 2 times a week and watched them make several arrests. We never felt safe there. When I mentioned it to the office, Liz who is awesome was like oh my gosh that is crazy. Vina immediately went into some bs lie that it was a new safe place policy she had just put into effect. I actually spoke to an officer the night I first saw it and they informed me to get back into my apartment and lock my door, because they were looking for a violent offender and that our complex was a haven for crime. Not even 2 weeks later we see police there during the day and the maintenance guys inform me that they are there for prostitutes. There is no playground for children and aggressive dogs everywhere. My dog was horrified to go outside, due to random dogs just running loose. We were constantly in fear of our daughter or ourselves being attacked by dogs. They have breed restrictions, but don't enforce them. We had a horrible experience all around. Even had our upstairs neighbors apartment flood ours on Christmas eve. Which cost us a fortune in electric, since we had to sit for two weeks with huge fans running nonstop. They left most of the drywall as is and it became moldy and smelly. The maintenance guy even informed us about how bad the apartment above us was and how they were drug users. They have homeless living out of vehicles on the property, loud parties and fights almost every night, and again prostitutes. We paid to break our lease early due to feeling unsafe and being overall unhappy. We asked upfront to pay all fees and still were slapped with more after we moved out. Even though we were verbally told by two different people that we were good to go. Our apartment was cleaner upon moving out than it was when we moved in. During the final inspection we were told we would not have to pay anything and could expect our deposit back. The maintenance guy was even surprised by how great the apartment looked. We should have known with how shady the manager is, that it was all bs. Save your money and your sanity and do not move here. It is not worth it! There are SO many other complexes that are much nicer and have competent staffing.
