  • Went to this dealership to look at a used vehicle they had for sale. When I got there, it took a while for the person I spoke to on the phone to get off of a call he had on his cell. Then he showed me the car. He showed me how it had pretty deep scratches on the front bumper. It also had a fair amount of worn parts on the interior, in the forms of scratches. Also, the windshield was quite dirty on the inside, which I was told was due to the shampooing having gotten on there since they had to let it dry while sitting outside with the windows closed, due to their limited indoor area. When we sat at his desk after test driving it, the more I looked at the vehicle out the window, the more I noticed dents, including a major one on the quarter panel. He said that any such concerns could be taken care of if I agreed to purchase the vehicle. When we were talking about my trade-in, they were telling me that the new version of my equivalent vehicle practically cost the same amount as mine which was a recent model year. After getting home, I looked up the MSRP for the vehicle, and realized that that was very far from being the truth, considering he told me they were only taking $2000 off of the MSRP. He called me several days later (said he'd call me on Monday but called me on Tuesday), and asked if I'd still be interested in the vehicle. I didn't like the way a certain component worked on it, which seemed normal due to the wear and tear since the vehicle I had looked at was at quite the high mileage. I kept being hesitant, giving a few reasons why I don't feel that that'd be the right vehicle for me. He said to me, "Well you came to me to see the vehicle, I didn't come to you," which sounded to me like he was taking my reasons for thinking the vehicle wasn't for me personally. So all-in-all, I was expecting a used vehicle that's sitting in the lot of a Honda dealership to be in what I'd consider a sellable shape (not all scratched and dented inside and out, and with dirty inside of the windshield resulting in unsafe driving conditions), which has been my experience with most large dealerships. This vehicle was in the shape that you'd expect from a small corner of the street dealership. I don't see me going back to them, considering the type of treatment I received, and the conditions of their pre-owned vehicles.
