  • I wish we had Cost Plus in New England, but then again I don't because I would spend allll my money here. I love the selection of imported candy, including Katjes gummis, Milka and Lindt chocolate, and White Rabbit. You can also find deals on domestic candy, like a giant 2 lb. bag of Jelly Belly jelly beans for $15. There were some other interesting imported food items, like Indian/British tea and wasabi salt from Japan. Some of the travel-toiletry-sized food items creeped me out a bit, like the cheese curds and the hummus in a tube. Shouldn't those be refrigerated?! Cost Plus sells booze too, but I didn't check it out. Cost Plus also sells home goods and decor. I got one of those Indian elephant strands for $8. There's a variety of rustic and modern furniture, although the selection does skew towards a younger crowd. A lot of the furniture and rugs would be good for a dorm or a first apartment. Many items here are really good deals. However, always check the price tag, because you will run into the occasional $30 scarf, $20 cosmetics bag, or $7 greeting card. In other words, not everything is a bargain. Cost Plus is full of things you don't necessarily need but might love anyway. I would definitely come back for the candy and probably pick up some other things on the way :)
