  • If you are serious about spinning and also on a budget Cyclebar is not for you. If you are into social interactions and you dont' care about burning calories you may find Cyclebar a good place to hang out. Cyclebar specializes in spinning classes and they have invested in technology and equipment that attempts to simulate the "bar" experience. One of the key issues that influenced the negative review is that their management (corporate) is not really engaged and not even looking to provide customer service beyond the experience at the individual clubs. I have sent messages to corporate and also posted a not so positive review on Yelp but yet nobody from management monitors these interactions. Here is a more balanced review for the hardcore "fans" of Cyclebar who sent me messages through Yelp asking me to give it another try ...Well, I gave this place 4 tries with 4 different instructors! Pros: - Cyclebar is focused on spinning. This can be a con too since there are no other exercise equipment to complete your workout. - Instructors are ok but not great - Nice setup with lights and bar like atmosphere if you are into the dark rooms, dim lights and loud music - Combines upper body exercise with light weights - They provide towels, cycling shoes and water - Friendly atmosphere Cons: - Expensive compared to mainstream spinning classes at your local gym - Equipment and data they collect appears to not being used to their full capacity. - Hit and miss on instructors. Some of them help first time riders others do not. Some of them are fun others are not! - Duration of class is less than 50 minutes and instructors do not pay too much attention to stretching at all. Bottom line for me: I had a really bad first time experience so I tried their classes 3 more times but that first experience ruined the rest even though the rest of the experiences were marginally better. I decided I am better off paying my monthly fee at the local gym and choosing the spinning classes there based on the instructors. The local gym has a few instructors far more superior than the Cyclebar. Note that the local gym management is equally bad and disengaged but at least I am not paying $60 for 4 classes per month. I pay $25 for unlimited classes and access to a full gym!
