  • Wow! I am so thankful for the doctors and staff at Veterinary Specialists they saved our puppy. We were up in Flagstaff and noticed our dog was really lethargic, not eating and his breath smelt like nail polish remover (acetone). We called our Vet in Phoenix who told us to immediately take him to a vet up there. At 1am in the morning our dog was diagnosed with diabetes and it was so severe that he had DKA which is a life threatening condition. We were told that we would need to leave him in Flagstaff for 3-4 days or immediately drive home to Phoenix. We arrived at Veterinary Specialists at 4am and the doctor and staff had already reviewed our dog's files and test results and we're ready to go as soon as we arrived. They were so nice and spent a lot of time explaining what would happen and the aftercare for our pup. We had peace know our little guy was in the best hands possible. I also really appreciated that anytime we called they immediately routed our call to the vet tech who was responsible for our dog - she knew who we were and gave us periodic updates. I would highly recommend this hospital because of their industry knowledge, service and attention to pets and their owner's as well. Thank you!!
