I came here on Valentine's Day with my awesome guy. I've never been here nor any cooking school's restaurant but after today, I'm a fan. The restaurant is completely staffed by students of Le Cordon Bleu. While talking to our server, I learned that students spend 3 weeks in the front of the house and then rotate for 3 weeks to the kitchen. I think that it's great that the students get a full understanding of how the restaurant works in all aspects. The dining area was tastefully decorated and the large glass window showcasing the working kitchen kept catching my attention.
The menu price for lunch was $10 and that included a 3 course meal. There were various items for starters, entree and dessert that could be selected.
I chose: Soup (butternut squash), Vegetarian Risotto, Chocolate Mousse
My date: Shrimp Risotto, Beef Short Rib, Chocolate Mousse
The food was all well prepared. My soup could have been a tad bit warmer but it was still delicious. The shrimp risotto was my favorite and I was a little envious that I didn't order it but my boyfriend shared :) The chocolate mousse was extremely rich - chocoholics rejoice; diabetics avoid.
Service was great and the students working the front of the house were very hospitable and attentive.
Our bill came out to around $27 and we ate like the wealthy. Well spent money for top notch food and that feel good vibe that you're supporting future chefs.
