Love the atmosphere here! We came on a warm summer night and it almost feels like it's an open-air restaurant. The side walls open, which provides a great breeze. I've eaten here twice and really enjoyed myself both times.
On our most recent visit, my husband and I split french onions soup, fish & chips and the Idiot Pizza. All dishes tasted great. The food was a solid four stars but the ambiance pushed my rating up to a full five.
I'm surprised that Village Idiot only has 3.5 stars on Yelp. In a city full of pubs, maybe local Toronto folks only find this place average, I don't know. I loved everything about it. I've been in both winter and summer; both times the atmosphere rocked, the food/beer was good and the prices are extremely reasonable!
If you want an authentic Toronto pub experience, I highly recommend Village Idiot or Victory Cafe!
