  • I don't think I hate anything worse in this world than the dentist. I've never had good experiences and I dread going, even put it off as much as I can. Well, after a year with no cleanings, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and make an appointment. I decided to give Rainsprings a try since I had read many good reviews. I've now been to two appointments, a general new patient and a planing/scaling. Both went extremely well to my surprise. The first appointment I met Dr. Stokes who examined me and decided that I needed a little more done than the regular cleaning. He was very kind and spent time answering my questions. My second appointment involved root planing and scaling. It's about as fun as it sounds. To make matters worse, I happen to be pregnant and decided to opt against traditional anesthesia for the procedure. The hygienist insisted we at least use a numbing gel and was kind enough to even read through the gel's information to make sure it was safe to use on pregnant ladies. I had another engagement later in the day and let her know that I was on a tight time frame. I figured I would end up late, expecting the appointment to take a few hours. I was in and out in an hour and fifteen, with plenty of time to spare! Though the procedure itself was no picnic, the hygienist was very good about monitoring me and ensuring I was doing alright. If I even looked like I was in the slightest bit of pain, she immediately stopped and asked if I wanted more numbing gel. On top of the great service from Dr. Stokes and the hygienist, the front desk staff can't be beat. They are always so nice when I call and visit the office. They let me know exactly what the visits entail as well as giving me an estimated price on everything so there's no sticker shock. I don't normally like the dentist, but Rainsprings makes me think maybe the dentist isn't the worst thing in the world.
