| - We bought the Toronto City Pass, which came with a pass to the CN Tower. With the pass, we were able to skip the line to buy tickets, which was very convenient. We tried to time our visit so that we could catch the sun setting over the harbor and take a few pictures in the process. Once we were at the top, we explored the open air deck, which was not ideal for taking pictures because the netting got in the way no matter how we manipulated the camera. However, we did have a great time taking selfies on the glass floor. It was surreal seeing the Ripleys aquarium logo on the roof under our feet.
When it got a little darker, we were able to stake out a spot to set up the camera and take a few photos. We didn't have any trouble with the glare from the glass. We were able to spend as long as we wanted up on the observation deck, and didn't feel hurried to leave. I think overall we were there for around 3 hours, which was more than most people cared to stay. As the night went on, we were able to get some great photos of the city lights as well.
I would say that the photos taken from the glass part of the CN tower were amazing, and paying extra to go to the observation deck even further up would not have added anything to the experience.
