First of all, this place has the best espresso in Madison hands down. It's consistently as good as it is for a number of reasons, first the beans are supplied by the roaster Kickapoo coffee and they are incredibly high quality. If you are getting a shot of espresso you will have several single origin bean options to choose from, and they are made skillfully by the barista. Secondly, the espresso machine they use is very state of the art. The machine is seriously expensive and it puts a lot of the control in shot pulling in the hands of the barista, which ends up being a good thing. The espresso ends up having plenty of crema and a complex flavor that is never overly acidic or over-pulled. The flat white is also another great espresso based drink to try out. It is essentially a latte with milk in a smaller proportion than a regular latte so you get a stronger taste of the espresso. Bradbury's also offers Japanese Siphon coffee which is great if you have a couple or few people to split it. The Japanese Siphon is an interesting glass contraption that makes a very clean tasting cup of brew that is full-flavored.
Now on to the crepes themselves. They are wonderful, better than the crepes I've had in Paris and Marseille. The concept behind Bradbury's is that they like to use products that they can buy locally, so the menu changes frequently and during the summer it is heavily influenced by the farmers market. For a good simple sugary crepe get the cinnamon sugar crepe, it's always one of my favorites. Otherwise the lemon curd crepes are great. The savory crepes are typically good too but my favorite always ends up being a sweet crepe. If you haven't been here check it out!
