Kekou has 2 locations - one in Baldwin Village and one at Queen and Spadina. It makes me so happy that they're doing well enough to expand because this is my favourite gelato place in Toronto. The Asian-inspired flavors are so good and clean.
You buy based on the number of flavors you want which also impacts the side of the cup. Warning - 2 flavors is huge. I couldn't finish mine. So I recommend going with a bunch of people to try different flavors or just going back multiple times. They're also really good about you trying out all the flavors before picking one and I've never had a worker get annoyed with me wanting to try so many of the flavors.
I got the rosewater pistachio and the red bean white chocolate. The rosewater pistachio was a perfect balance of sweet rose notes with chunks of pistachio while the red bean white chocolate is always my go to (though I wish they would have slightly more red bean in it)
Other flavors that I've tried and love are:
- whiskey green tea which has an amazing kick of whiskey flavour
- Hong Kong milk tea
- vietnamese coffee
- green bean coconut
- salted spicy pineapple
The queen location is a lot bigger and actually has a bunch of tables that would be great to work at (the Baldwin location has no seating) and I was pleasantly surprised to find they now make popsicles and take-home tubs of their gelato which I will be definitely back for
