| - I can't believe I'm giving a Holiday Inn Express 5 stars! The place must be brand new. It was so clean! The rooms had very high ceilings, and was decorated so nicely! Seriously looks like modern, higher end places we've paid 300$ for.
The room had a bigger than average fridge and a microwave. Great tv. Nice lighting.
The free breakfast had a bit of something for everyone, chobani yogurt (and other brands), cold and hot cereals, fresh pancake maker, eggs (scrambled and hard boiled), pastries, muffins with gravy, juices and decent coffee. Not amazing, but certainly have had worse breakfasts in hotels.
The indoor pool looked fine as well as a fully stocked gym. As a bonus they also had pay washers and dryers. Nice to see a laundry room.
We only stayed here for a night and did not explore Madison, but another family told us Olin Park (just beyond the train tracks) had nice trails and their little girl (2 ish years old) liked it.
My only concern if you're a light sleeper is that the road in front of the hotel could be heard from our first floor, front room (room 105). Maybe if we were on the back side of the property it would not be an issue.
